Seattle Fun
We’re pretty behind on our blogging, but we’ll try to catch up today! A couple weeks ago we had some visitors from Provo! We had a really good time while they were here! The first day that they were here we saw all the down town sites. Checked out Pikes Place, Seattle Center etc. Then […]
Hong Kong Bakery
We discovered a little Hong Kong style bakery this week. It’s called Regent Cafe and it’s so good! The egg tarts are super yum and they have those HK style cakes I love!
Birthday Bash!~
Last week was my birthday and Jon took me to do a ton of fun things! We started the day with some yummy yummy dim sum! We went to this really good place called Jade Garden in the International district. It got really good reviews on Yelp! and they were all right on the dot. […]
Easter fun
Well, once again we’ve let our blogging slip. For Easter we made these cute cookies! Jon did most of the work, rolling out the dough and actually cutting out the shapes. Then I sprinkled the colored sugar on. In one of our recipe books we found out you can make your own colored suger by […]
Santa Fe Mexican Grill
We kept seeing on slickdeals an offer by restaurant.com where you can get $25 gift certificates for $2. We were hesitant to try this at first, but Eileen generously gave us a restaurant.com gift certificate. We decided to use it to go to Santa Fe Mexican Grill. When we walked in, we were impressed by […]
Building an igloo
Last weekend, I went with my scout troop to Alpental at Snoqualmie. We got up there at about 11am, which was good because we spent about 5-7 hours building the igloos. We used ice saws to cut out bricks, which we used for walls. There were five of us sleeping in our igloo, so that […]
Ear Flap Hat
This is my latest creation! I made it on a Kniffty Knitter hat loom. I got the pattern from this book. I’m going to try to make the bear hat that’s on the cover next!
Seattle Startup Weekend
Last weekend, we went to Google campus in Fremont for Seattle Startup Weekend 2. It was a really good time. There were 150 people there (including programmers, designers, businesspeople, lawyers, and others) all with the intention of creating and launching a business in the weekend. It was even featured on the news. To begin with, […]
Chinese New Year
Two weekends ago we headed downtown to join in on the Chinese New Year celebrations. There were so many people there it took us forever to find a parking spot. Right after we parked we passed by a few stores that were preparing for lion dancing. They were hanging up lettuce with red envelopes and […]
Mochi-tsuki
Last weekend we went to a mochi making festival on Microsoft campus! We got to see how mochi is traditionally made and we got to taste some fresh mochi! First the sticky rice is cooked in square wooden containers. After it is cooked it’s placed in a large “bowl” made out of stone. Wooden mallets […]
