SHELOB!!!!
Well, we had a pretty frightening week. This past weekend we came home from Stake Conference and above our heads on the porch was the ugliest spider you’ve ever seen. It was super aggressive, jumping around and catching bugs. We decided we ought to get rid of it since we weren’t sure if it was […]
110 hats!!!!~~
Woooo-hooo! We met our goal is flying colors. As of today we have 110 hats. Last week we found out that the deadline for the hats is this Saturday so we had to crank it into high gear. We’ll be dropping off the hats in Seattle tomorrow 🙂 Wondering how tall a tower of 110 hats […]
Creme Bru-yum
A couple of weeks ago Jon and I bought this creme brulee torch. Our purchase was inspired by our desire for this seared tuna dish that they have at this local sushi shop. In the end, we we figured out how to sear our tuna in a pan instead of with the torch, but the torch […]
Our secret garden
I know, I know you’ve been dying to see it. Our little secret garden. Well, it’s secret no more!!!!! Behold, our garden!
BOOOOO!!!!!!
Happy Halloween, everyone! We got into the Halloween mood during FHE this week and we carved our first ever family pumpkin! We hope you enjoy our choice of carving pattern! Everyone loves pumpkin pi! How does that pi shine so bright, you ask? We’re using an LED camping light to light our pumpkin this year. […]
Apples!!!
We bought tons of apples. Double the amount seen in the picture (we have a whole separate bag of them). We eat them while we’re knitting our hats and watching our zillions of movies. We have this GREAT apple corer/cutter that saves tons of time. I think that if we didn’t have that, we wouldn’t […]
I’m a PC
Microsoft’s been releasing new ads featuring the “I’m a PC” motto. http://www.windows.com they’re a pretty catchy response to Mac’s commercials making fun of PCs. I’m not usually really vocal about the Mac vs. PC argument, but they more I think about it I’m really happy that I’m a PC 🙂 That doesn’t meant that being a […]
100 hats
We’ve made a goal to knit 100 hats by Thanksgiving to donate to the homeless. We found out that there are actually a lot of homeless in our county who need a way to warm up during the winter. We’re at 24 hats and 2 scarves. Jon is actually the faster and more devoted knitter! […]
Cinnamon ice cream
We tried this recipe out this week http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cinnamon-Ice-Cream/Detail.aspx. Even though it says “cinnamon” we think it tastes more like snickerdoodle ice cream. Jon was hoping it’d be like a cinnomon gelato he had at Cinzetti’s in Colorado. It was still yummy even though it only made 1/2 as much as your average ice cream recipe.
Homemade bagels!
Last Monday we made these bagels for FHE http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Bread-Machine-Bagels/Detail.aspx They came out great! The bagels were a lot easier to make than anticipated. Even though the recipe says it’s specifically for bread machines you would be able to make them by hand (it’d just take a lot longer). Once the dough was done all we […]
