http://jongela.com Mon, 28 Nov 2011 08:08:49 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 http://jongela.com/2009/03/building-an-igloo/ http://jongela.com/2009/03/building-an-igloo/#comments Mon, 16 Mar 2009 07:05:42 +0000 jon http://jongela.com/?p=206 Last weekend, I went with my scout troop to Alpental at Snoqualmie.  We got up there at about 11am, which was good because we spent about 5-7 hours building the igloos.  We used ice saws to cut out bricks, which we used for walls.  There were five of us sleeping in our igloo, so that decreased how much work each of us had to do.  After building the main igloo, we dugg tunnels for sleeping in.  I had a good sleeping bag and waterproof clothes so it was pretty warm.  I only slept for about 4 hours, though, because it was uncomfortable.  Luckily I had a 3g signal so I kept up with my email and RSS feeds.
