Last weekend Jon and I went to check out the Granite Curling Club in Seattle due to interest sparked during our olympic adventure.  After watching the curling event we figured we could probably make it on the US team without too much trouble, but after trying it we realize that curling is a bit harder than it [...]

Jon and I have blogged about this place in the past, but we went there last night and had another great experience.  We go there because they take the resturant.com coupons that you can get online sometimes for dirt cheap.  This time we got a small meat nacho appetizer, it was sooooo yummy and huge!!!  [...]

A couple of weeks ago, Jon and I went with my group of interns to the San Juan Islands.  We got to try sea kayaking for the first time!  When we booked the trip our main reason for going was to see whales, but we weren’t so lucky.  We saw a bunch of other things [...]

Building an igloo

16 March, 2009 (07:05) | Life, Things to do in Seattle | By: jon

Last weekend, I went with my scout troop to Alpental at Snoqualmie.  We got up there at about 11am, which was good because we spent about 5-7 hours building the igloos.  We used ice saws to cut out bricks, which we used for walls.  There were five of us sleeping in our igloo, so that [...]

Seattle Startup Weekend

12 February, 2009 (09:38) | Hobbies, Things to do in Seattle | By: jon

Last weekend, we went to Google campus in Fremont for Seattle Startup Weekend 2. It was a really good time. There were 150 people there (including programmers, designers, businesspeople, lawyers, and others) all with the intention of creating and launching a business in the weekend. It was even featured on the news.
To [...]

Chinese New Year

12 February, 2009 (09:38) | Life, Things to do in Seattle | By: angela

Two weekends ago we headed downtown to join in on the Chinese New Year celebrations.  There were so many people there it took us forever to find a parking spot.  Right after we parked we passed by a few stores that were preparing for lion dancing.  They were hanging up lettuce with red envelopes and [...]
